Interactive Map

You can explore the area around Le Pierrotin using this interactive map.

Superb Location 1

You can see where Le Pierrotin is in this  view taken downstream  from the Pont des Catalans. Across the river is the Dome of the Hopital La Grave - a famous Toulouse landmark

Superb Location 2

In this aerial view you can see where the apartment is - right next to the Canal de Brienne, and close to the Pont Saint Pierre. Note that because the picture was taken in the spring or summer, the building is hidden by trees (thus keeping the apartment cool!)

Next to a nice restaurant

The apartment is right next to the recently opened  "Grave" restaurant and wine bar, which is getting excellent reviews. Despite the close proximity, we have never been disturbed by the restaurant.

Espace EDF Bazacle

Just a few hundred meters further down the Quai is the Espace Bazacle which is ranked #22 out of 274 things to do in Toulouse. It is also visible in the photo taken from the Pont des Catalans.

Beautifully restored street

In the last 2 years, the Mairie in Toulouse has invested heavily in renovating the entire waterfront, including Quai St Pierre. It now has cycle lanes, and fixed places for seating. Great for reading a book in the sunshine.

Night views

The views across the rivers from just in front of the apartment are particularly beautiful at night - very romantic!

Lovely shade in summer

In summer, the trees along the Quai St Pierre mean that Le Pierrotin is kept beautifully in the shade. And yet we, are just a few hundred meters from the places where you can wander along the banks of the river

Close to Place St Pierre

The apartment is just 200 m from one of the most popular sites in Toulouse - the Place St Pierre. There are always lots of young people sitting at tables outside the many bars, or enjoying other events such as dancing and various expositions. When Toulouse wins the Rugby Championship, the place goes wild. And yet, none of this has affected us when we are at Le Pierrotin. For some reason, the fans don't venture beyond the Canal de Brienne.

Free Bus every 15 minutes

It's easy to get to most places in Toulouse on foot. But when it is cold or rainy, or you just feel lazy, there is a free minibus that goes past Le Pierrotin every 15 minutes or so during the day. Just wave down the bus, and the driver will pick you up and transport you anywhere on the loop. Also a good way to get a free tourist trip!

Easy access to west Toulouse

Toulouse can be tough for car drivers because the centre can be very congested. However, Le Pierrotin is very well placed for driving to locations in the west of the city. For several years, Simon was working at the Hospital in Purpan. It would typically only take about 10-12 minutes to get there by car, either via the "rocade" (bypass) or via smaller routes when there is congestion. Getting to the airport is also only about 12 minutes, although best to avoid the rush hour!
